    Havent done much work lately. Buffed the green and the purple EXP. I also got the punisher EXP shipped to its new home in california..

    A couple of update pics. Man, these kind of colors are really hard to photograph. The purple especially. I cant get a straight on shot of it.

    Not always. Up until this point about half and half. But from this point on, im going to stick to tinted clears. They offer much more uniform color. Zebrawood really doesnt take stain evenly and the lighter parts almost completely resist it.

    I use a small spray gun for the burst, a full sized one for the color and clear. I actually need to get a new one. Its about 8 years old .

    The sealer is polyester and meant to stick a little better, which i assume will help. Scott, i did burst it, i just didnt take a pic of the headstock after i did a black burst. I'll take some more pictures today.

    Progress has been slow, but its finally warming up here. I was able to get this sealed and the color sprayed, plus black burst. I think i finally found a sealer that works.

    Wow, i didnt even know about that. I didnt build that guitar with it. That was the second owner of the guitar and he must have done it in the past few days! Thanks for the heads up!

    Ok, here we go! Picking up where i left off from last years thread: The only thing i have to show for this year is this neck blank. Walnut, paduak and cocobolo. Im waiting for some maple veneer to come in, so it will give a crisper line between each of the woods.

    Happy new year everybody. I havnt done much lately. Been going through a rough patch in life and just lost all motivation to work on anything, it makes me way too anxious. Plus i just hate winter and it throws off my mood. I finally got around to finish sanding a couple of guitars, but nothing else really productive. I cut some 7 piece neck blanks up today and they are about ready for gluing, but thats it. Should i start a new thread or should i keep it going on this one?

    Looking great. What kind of sealer did you use?

    Glued up the tamo ash v. I went with black grainfiller instead of staining and sanding back, i like it a lot better.

    Thanks guys. Unfortunately that picture is taken with a filter. It really doestn look that amazing. I used the filter to emulate the grain popping with a finish. It is pretty pale with no filter.

    Finally getting around to working on some more guitars. Picked up some tamo ash veneer, and i knew exactly what i wanted to do with it. I could picture the grain lines fitting perfectly in this shape. In the pics its right after i dyed the grain black and sanded it back. I plan on doing it trans purple. Also got a cool pic of a coopers hawk in my front yard. It obliterated a quail.

    Life has gotten a little tough lately. One of those things where something happens and everything else non related is affected too. Been trying to distract myself by working on stuff still. A little too anxious to spend a lot of time on it. But here are a few updates. Hope everybody has a great thanksgiving.

    Been really stuck mentally. Normally i have builds planned out in my head way before i start them. lately ive been struggling to focus on one thing and commit to an idea. Ive gotten a few more things going, but not much real progress.

    I sure hope you didnt run that neck blank with all that glue through the drum sander like that!

    Here are 2 more updates. Got the zebra cleared. Took the color great and looks pretty neon in the sun. Also getting ready to glue up another ziricote SS.

    It does come through the amp. It is a pretty loud rattle/ buzz when you hit the open E. Very strange.
