hyunsu
2PC soft curly maple.. and soft maple is not dense.. so use ebony.. and scafed neck joint ? Gibson styles neck is too many broken head.. and loose wood.. so scafed neck joint use. today i will laminated Fingerboad. and shafe neck back (bulk style) and wait for 3 week.. seasonning. for neck wood.. and radius and fretting.. and finish will Lacquer(?) .. and use spray Gun.. when my guitar making is not burden but first order is impose a heavy burden if it is cheap but burden is not cheap.. he is student so only 120$ .. i think.. he do not order me.. i will make guitar waste money.. have a good time.. bye.. GregP
Mockingbird is the finest shape B.C. Rich have come up with. It's going to look great. Why did the customer want a spruce back? Did he have a piece already? Hopefully you will at least 'break even' (not make money, but not lose money) on this guitar, but even if you lose a little bit, it's probably not a bad idea to get a guitar into the public. Maybe he will recommend you to some friends, and you can charge more. If you 'break even', you get to practice making a guitar without paying for the materials, at least. Myka Guitars
hyunsu, as always you do excellent work. That is a great looking guitar and the figuring in the maple is intense. I have played a couple electric guitars with spruce for the back or top and the result is a good one. The spruce is light and resonant. I am sure your client will love it. ~David

GregP
You got it, exactly, hyunsu! "break even" means that you are not losing money, even if you are not making money. Looks like a great project! Greg

MKGBass
Amazing guitar! I love it all. It looks like he killed someone on his workshop floor in that last pic. Also note the flamed maple clamping call. That's high class, boys.
erikbojerik
Great job! Love it! And yeah, don't use that nice flame maple for a clamping caul. Make something out of it; knobs, truss rod covers, whatever. Keep it up!
