avengers63
Looks like a Jackson Kelly, but with a longer treble horn. Hey, don't you make anything with 6 strings?
!!METAL MATT!!
Hey, don't you make anything with 6 strings? hahaha I want to sometimes but I never seem to get around to it
SD83
Looks cool! The color change on the headstock looks a bit weird from behind, but I definitily like the rest of that guitar (including the 7th string ) Too bad there seems to be no place to buy bloodwood within like 1000 miles from my home... it looks so great! westhemann
I don't know why but I like it quite a bit...I think it needs to be white...bone white. With crossbone inlays.
Maiden69
I'm impressed with this one so far. Nice take on the Kelly-Explorer body. Let's see it finished OK.
Tristan
Looks awesome! When are you gonna start selling your builds?
ae3
A neck pickup?! That's a bit out of character for you Matt I can only tell that it's yours because it has 7 strings. I love it! Wes is right, it must be white, I have a thing for white guitars.
westhemann
It looks like it will be comfy to play...I guess that may be why I like it...and the neck pickup.
komodo
I don't know why but I like it quite a bit...I think it needs to be white...bone white. With crossbone inlays. Yep. . . .and dip the bottom horn in red paint and let it drip and splatter down the body. You may have to sell this one to GWAR.
!!METAL MATT!!
A part of me wants to paint it but at the same time I like the old school look that the walnut is puting out, its kind of a good mix. What do you guys think about the headstock, Im kinda iffy on it and I would like it to match the body a bit more but I also kinda think that once all the parts are on there that it will look good
govtmule
Looks good Matt ! I'm curious how you kept from blowing the lower horn apart with your router. I'm assuming that you used a bevel bit in a router table ? It gets so thin that I would have thought you'd run the risk of blow out.
avengers63
I agree with the others - this needs paint. A metal ax just doesn't seem right in my head as natural wood. Do the face of the headstock to match the body.
ihocky2
I like the shape a lot. I like the vibe it is giving off with the natural tones, but I think Wes nailed it on the head with it painted white. With that shape and the color of the fretboard, I think white will really set it off.
westhemann
Paint it...white...metal guitars look stupid brown.
RestorationAD
Stain it red over the brown and make it look like dragon blood....
avengers63
Staining it red might fight with the fretboard - different shades of red. Don't paint it white, do off-white or bone-white - just a hint of tan. It'll go GREAT with the bloodwood.
Metalhead28
I have to agree. I would generally like the look of that walnut, but I think that perticular guitar really needs to be painted. Awesome design though.
!!METAL MATT!!
Ok Ive Got it freted and the Bat box,Jack, and cover plate are done now just a TON of sanding http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo34/RA...RS/DSCF0187.jpg
anderekel
That's lookin' awesome man. I really like how far you stretched the shape there. So, that jack doesn't get in the way at all there? I was thinkin' of trying something like that, but I'm afraid that it'll be way in the way.

Its easy to do and it looks and works great Edited March 19, 2009 by !!METAL MATT!!
Xanthus
I'm thinking about using that jack design for my latest build. Just need to mock it up and find out where the cord won't poke me. Was thinking about making my own plate like Perry did on the Vine and one of his DC's, but drilling into the body with a Forstner bit at a 60 degree angle and expecting everything to go peachy is absurd with my track record Not to mention having to build my own plate. Looking good, Matt! The thing is just BIG all-around!
ElysianGuitars
wait, is it Tyrent on purpose, or is that a misspelling?
