J_48_Johnson
I'm in the VERY early planing stages of building a LP and I need to know what the fretboard radius is, or did they change them through the years? I've searched online and have found nothing to answer my question. If they did change them, what were they, and what did they go to? Thanks, B-rad from Akron

Thanks, B-rad from Akron As far as I know the FB radius of the Les Paul (and of basically all Gibson electrics to date) has always been 12". killemall8
well, you dont have to do it exactly like a real les paul. thats the point of building your own custom guitar. i put a 14 on mine. not that anyone can tell the difference between 2 degrees. CrazyManAndy
I'm pretty sure the standard for Gibson has always been 12". CMA
brian d
12" is the standard for LP's. You can do something different if you prefer a different fretboard radius, but then you'll need to adjust the saddles of the TOM bridge as they are set for 12" radius as standard. I beleive you can deepen the notches where required to get a different radius, just as you would slot a nut. Brian.
Setch
Yep. 12" is standard. well, you dont have to do it exactly like a real les paul. thats the point of building your own custom guitar. i put a 14 on mine. not that anyone can tell the difference between 2 degrees. That'd be inches, not degrees

TemjinStrife
Whatever you do, make sure your bridge of choice matches the radius of your fingerboard. Most TOM-style bridges are 12", but some are 14".
Prostheta
Over here in the UK, they censor it on TV depending on the number of degrees and not inches.
