Howfar
I've graduated from a Saga kit to a Stew-Mac and then a Warmoth parts-o-caster. Now I'm considering a bass. Any big potholes to avoid? Thanks...

soapbarstrat
Any big potholes to avoid? I'd avoid drilling the potholes bigger than 5/16". I'm not aware of any pot shafts needing a bigger hole than that.
RGman
I have one serious note on potholes to avoid... Avoid thinking of the number 13 in conjunction with the word strings.

Geo
I've graduated from a Saga kit to a Stew-Mac and then a Warmoth parts-o-caster. Now I'm considering a bass. Any big potholes to avoid? Thanks... The answers are cracking me up... Here's a serious one. Just plan everything out full-size on paper. Base it all around your bridge. Buy Melvyn Hiscock's book. It's very helpful. In my experience, the construction is the same... the differences are the obvious things. (Dimensions, 4 strings.) Ben
I second Geo's advice. Melvyn Hiscock's book is great, and drawing everything out accurately and full size is very sensible.
