hale88
I just put a new set of pickups in my project, but the volume and tone controls are screwed up. I followed the wiring diagram completely, I think. The volume only adjusts about halfway, from loudest to moderate. It doesn't shut the volume off completely. the tone seems to be working backwards also. I used the 500K pots from stew-mac. the ones with the long shaft. they were listed under specialty parts. Do I have the wrong pots? They say Alpha on the back if that helps. Edited April 2, 2007 by hale88
GregP
Right pots, wrong lugs is my guess.
hale88
I thought of that, too. Just afraid to try it. I'll give it a try. thanks
hale88
I went to guitarelectronics.com and used one of their diagrams. It worked! The diagram with the picups, now that I can sit back and look at it, didn't have a ground for the tone pot. I switched things around and ran a ground and finally it worked.
