Maiden69
Sorry, that was kinda like what I wanted, but I got BLUE HAPPY and it turned out a bit darker... I can still see the reflection thru... very nice. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/Maiden69/DSC03352.jpg I did got a little over my self, and I shoot some clear, but I didn't notice it had gotten a bit colder now, and the coat turned out a bit white, no biggie, I will fix that later! A nice wet coat should fix it tomorrow. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/Maiden69/DSC03354.jpg
pmarlin
Dude I was thinking a little lighter color but that is beautiful. I started painting my Iceman this weekend and it was kinda cold so I have had my space heater running all day in the shop.
Maiden69
I wanted a lighter color my self, but the more blue I put, the more I liked it! I took the guitar insode, it's being 3 hours now and it is nice and clear!!!

our E
Wow ! that looks awesome , are you spraying in a booth to keep dust at bay or is there a secret I havn't been told ?

Maiden69
Wow ! that looks awesome , are you spraying in a booth to keep dust at bay or is there a secret I havn't been told ? Out in the open, fighting with the wind and everything! I had minimal problems with dust while painting! one time a flye decided to stop by, I just waited until it was cured, then just pulled it out and sanded, If you mess with the dust as soon as it hits the paint, you are going to mess it up! treat it the same way you will treat a run or a spit from the nozzle... Myka Guitars
Hey that turned out great. I also thought it was going to be lighter but I really like it and you can still see the metallic effect. Nice! ~David

Maiden69
Neck is being glued on at this moment! I'll take it apart tomorrow, I will do 2 more coats tomorrow to the top and then switch the attention to the back. I usualy paint the entire guitar at once, but here I don't have a place to leave it hanging to dry, so it will be in steps. OMG I'm so happy that nitro burns into the previous coats, try doing this with 2 part poly!!! Thanks Setch!!! Maiden69
Well, it is done! I had a little problem with the trem, but it is taken care off! Front Side, (look close to the recessed Kahler) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/Maiden69/DSC03380.jpg Back http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/Maiden69/DSC03382.jpg Neck Joint http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/Maiden69/DSC03384.jpg Sisters http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/Maiden69/DSC03378.jpg It's missing one knob, my son took it and i will have to buy a new one because I can't find it! The PRS switch is very nice, lots of different sounds, the JB abd Jazz are a nice pair! My first guitar with passives in about 5 years. Its shielded with copper tape exept for the bridge rout! !WOOD!!
That is a great finish.Ilove everything about the guitar except for the heart shaped cavity cover. This is definitely GOTM quality.Exceptional work!!!
GregP
Great work! I'm glad you went with a "proper" blue rather than the faded denim type look. My girlfriend was looking over my shoulders and she really liked your choice to leave a natural look on the back rather than solid black or what have you. biliousfrog
very nice work. I think that I prefer the double cut's colour in the pics but I can imagine that the single looks great in the flesh. What is the "bit" sticking out of the back of the trem? THat trem is suppose to be used on top, my mistake because after I had everything done i decided to go with the Kahler! The slot os for the lockin pin, it makes the bridge a fixed one instead of a trem.

If you talk about this I stained blue, wiped off the excess and sanded carefuly until just as much blue as I wanted was showing! Everybody else, thanks, Crafty for as good critique as you are, your comments very are welcomed!
