ElysianGuitars
how is it tuned? 5ths? fanned fret 6's look so odd to me, design isn't bad though Edited January 10, 2007 by ElysianGuitars
catfoosh
how is it tuned? 5ths? fanned fret 6's look so odd to me, design isn't bad though tuned to standard pitch, alltho with this length scale it can go all the way down to C without getting too floppy

catfoosh
here's a couple more that are in progress a charlie hunter-ish 8 string and a 7 string thing with the same basic shape as the 6 http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/catfoosh/P1010011.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/catfoosh/P1010010.jpg
Robert Irizarry
Very cool - keep it coming! Question - How do you find playing them in different fretting hand positions? I've heard they're fine in classical position but haven't gotten anything firm on a rock position... Regards, Rob

DanielM
looks like a J.K. Lado design. neat.
erikbojerik
Looks like you chose the 6th or 7th fret as your "straight one"...so the fret angles are more extreme up at the higher frets where your soloing takes place. How's that work out?
I'm Not Rex Brown
i think neck is a bit too high proportionaly to body

How's that work out? i've built about a dozen of these with different scale length's and with the "straight" fret in different positions this one is the most comfotable for all around playing anymore than 3 inches difference in the 2 scale lengths makes it uncomfotable
catfoosh
i think neck is a bit too high proportionaly to body too high? the neck is purposely set a little high of center to make it easier to play in a seated postion
