Mattia
'Genuine' Mahogany will always be a Swietenia species, while the African should either be a Khaya or an Entadrophragma species. African often looks 'prettier', as mahogany is a relatively plain wood anyway. Other consideration: Swietenia species, all the commercial ones out of South America, can no longer cross borders without proper CITES paperwork. It isn't controlled like Brazilian Rosewood, but it is controlled.
