Flon Klar Guitars
Might as well throw this one out there too! It's still a work in progress, but I took these pix last week. #3 is the Angel, a 4-string fretted bass: curly maple top; black walnut back; 5-piece bloodwood/cherry/walnut thru-neck; 26-fret bloodwood fretboard; Kent Armstrong P-J pups with a Demeter 18-volt 3-band eq/preamp; gold tuners, bridge, knobs, straplocks; brass nut, inlays, side dots. This one's coming along real well, I think!

Logical Frank
Damn. If that ain't somethin'... I will just assume you can make such a concotion stay in tune. I guess you just rely on the neck going straight the way through.......? I dig it.
Setch
Wow - that's nuts, but I dig it!

Cerb
I don't like eruption, but this is beautiful! I will, however, say that you should go with fretless. The little metal speedbumps always divert your eyes from the rest of the basses beauty. Very, very cool though, dude

Flon Klar Guitars
I know it's been a while, but I've been sidetracked with other projects. Here are pix of the completed Angel bass. I'm still waiting to see how that "experimental" headstock holds up under tension, but so far it looks good. ElysianGuitars
no sir, i don't like it. just looks weird for the sake of being weird.
verhoevenc
I don't usually like crazy shapes... but this one is cool. And finish really brought something out in it! Chris
aidlook
I like this crazy thing. I think that the headstock would have looked better, while still looking unique, if it where at a little less angle also generating a straigher string pull
Bygde
Didn't like the headstock, but the body was cool! I've never seen anything like it! Edited January 30, 2008 by Bygde
LPboco
i love its crazy for the sake of being crazy which is the best part. is that what this is all about? doing something off the beaten track? Beautiful work Connor Edited January 31, 2008 by LPboco
Mickguard
is that what this is all about? doing something off the beaten track? It's been done, and better: Kronodale . I like the headstock, but I think you needed to spend a more time refining the body design. Looks like a hand-drawing. But then, it's a bass, so it's not a big deal, right? Flon Klar Guitars
Hey Everyone- Just wanted to jump in here for a minute and thank you all for the compliments and criticisms; all are appreciated. When I first started building, my thought was to build an instrument that I just couldn't get anywhere else. After all, what would be the point in making a copy of something I could go out and buy off the wall at Guitar Center? So yes, all my designs are "weird" (I prefer "unique"), and some border on experimental. Judging from the amount of interest and the number of orders I've received lately (following a successful sale on ebay), I think I'm on the right track.
