silviapwr20
I have never dissassembled a guitar prior to now, and had a quick question regarding the bridge. The bracket that the springs attach to, which provides tension on the bridge, should the screws be screwed all the way in, or left like shown? Thanks in Advance
RAI6
Most likely, they'll stay around where they're at now. However, they are adjustable for a reason. Whatever position it takes, to make the trem balanced between the spring/string tension.....
Jalien21
I think they come partially screwed in so that you can adjust them. tremolo bridges have a range of different little dealies you can adjust so you have to find a balance so that the bridge sits where you want it to. silviapwr20
Also, even though there is space for 5 springs, there was only 3 when I disassembled, is this normal? Thanks for the advice!
RAI6
3 springs seem to be the most common. It depends on set-up preference, string gauges, etc. If you're going with super-duper, heavy duty strings, you may have to add a spring or two. Springs also come in different lengths. Good to know if you ever need to replace one.....
