Welt
Now with the clear the gren looks a bit more deeper, better IMO. So you are putting the binding after staining the top??? I think this is a bit risky, one slip of the router, scrape on the top while scraping the binding would spell disaster for you my friend. I would haved bind and then seal the binding and after that stain. ← Totally agree. ← I was originally planning on doing a natural binding. It didnt work out and now I want to bind it. I know its risky. I'm willing to take that risk. I didn't plan on this happening.
CudBucket
That's a neat shade of green.
Welt
Thanks Dave. It was a random color that I was experimenting with in small qaunities. Found the color, but didnt know the exact ratio so, it took some patience in matching the color. Can;t wait to see your guitar all done. Been following your build for a long time. GregP
You figure? The beast is almost a deep amber (ie. yellow/orange-ish) while this EVH is khaki green! I can't say I'm in love with the colour yet, but a ) it's not my guitar; and b ) it'll look different clearcoated, with all the hardware installed, and in flattering light. Welt
I haven't been around here for a while. Anyway, on Saturday I finished my first guitar. I relieved to have it completly done. Let me know what you guys think please: http://www.EddieVanHalen.com/images/uploads/Dino_Style.jpg http://www.EddieVanHalen.com/images/uploads/Headstock_1.jpg I will try to get a few shots in the sunlight to really show off the color. haggardguy
Looks cool, I like the wolfgang style but just a few things I think would make it awesomer,1)cut the strings! 2)Replace the bride and nut etc with gold hardware,I know its too late now and its more expensive but it would look so good with the green. Nice work.
BlackZ
woah, sexiest wolfgang I have ever seen! makes me wanna go into a musicstore and buy me one - great work man! *drool*
Welt
Thanks for the response. I honestly forgot about the B string not being cut. its been done. I was thinking gold hardware, but decided against it. The Trem i wanted didnt come in gold. I know that the Wolfang and Musicman are similar, but this is an EVH/Axis style body. not much difference, but just to clear things up. glad you like it

skibum5545
Nice, man! I actually really like the color, especially on this guitar. I don't really like how you ran the quilt on the headstock perpendicular to that on the body, but to each his own, eh?
CudBucket
Nice. I'd like to see pics of the back to see how your cavities came out.
GodBlessTexas
You captalize the first letter of each sentence, and proper nouns. ← It's looking really good, though the color eludes me. Does it look different than the pictures? Either way, the guitar is beautiful. Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...
Daniel Sorbera
Looks real nice. You did a great job finishing it. Personally I would have sanded back way more on the black to give it a more bright green. But hey it's your guitar.
Welt
Thanks for the response. Glad you liek it. One thing about the color is pictures do NOT do it justice. Yesterday I took more pictures outside. Heres an angle shot of the back. I'll try to get some better ones later on: http://www.EddieVanHalen.com/images/uploads/Back.jpg Heres a close up on the back of the headstock: http://www.EddieVanHalen.com/images/uploads/Back_Head.jpg Heres a close up of the bridge and "Tone" knob: http://www.EddieVanHalen.com/images/uploads/bridge1.jpg And finally here is another front shot: http://www.EddieVanHalen.com/images/uploads/front_sun_2.jpg Edited October 5, 2005 by Welt

guitar2005
Wow. Nice project. I have a couple of questions for you. I've been wanting to make one of these too. 1- What is the neck pocket depth? 2- What is the depth of the floyd recess for the studs? 3- What kind of paint did you use for the back? 4- What kind of clear did you use for the finish coat? Thanks.
