jmrentis
..and a homer simpson as the devil inlay at the 12th... Sweet! Aaahhhhhhhh!(drools on clean pants) Doh! I used to have a drawing book that had all the simpsons chararters in many forms, too bad I don't where it is. I have seen a picture of homer, as a devil, it's awsome, maybe you could do a series of guitars with all different homers on it, like on the next one do homer as Mr. Plow. In one of the games for ps2 it has all the different costumes he has worn I think. I can't wait to see that inlay! Did you ever finish the inlay in your avatar or did you WWOD it: Wes' Wall Of Doom! HooHooHaaHaa The new project looks cool, any really cool features you want to let out of the bag beside the cool homer inlay? Good stuff man. Later. HooHooHaaHaa it is on hold until i get the truss rod for that neck,so that i can install the fretboard on the neck blank and have a more stable working surface.... jmrentis
Looks Killer matt. The neck and body match up so well, I really think this is one of your best designs. One thing I must say is be careful jamming at a gig, as you might end up impaling the bassist or singer. So what are you thinking now about the finish, I know you had to change the plan, have you come up with any final ideas? I like how it looks now for some reason, or maybe with some amber tint, but I think you wanted a solid color. I'm sure it will look great no matter what you do, it's the design that makes it impressive. It's also cool to hear Oak works well for you, hopefully more and more people will try it and see if everyone likes it. I think I might do a quick easy project just to see how it works and learn how to do finishes too, basically practice but if it turns out good I'll say I planned it all out from the beginning. HAha. Thanks for the opinion on that oak, sounds good. I'm sure it's WAAAAYY better than plywood and they make guitars out of that. And I believe as mentioned before lacewood is an oak. Well nice stuff matt, keep up with the pics "They're Great!!"says Tony the Tiger. Later. Jason
Jehle
It does look really cool Matt. My one concern with Oak is that it can be really heavy. How does this V weigh in?
!!METAL MATT!!
It does look really cool Matt. My one concern with Oak is that it can be really heavy. How does this V weigh in? To tell ya The Truth It's Not Bad At All It feel's Right!! I would Say that It weighs in At Less than A esp h-50 (I use to have) BUT My Oak body Is REALLY THIN so If it where A thicker body It would Be Heavy, Not Bad But Heavy But I Love Heavy Guitars !!METAL MATT!! deadmike
people say flying V's are for aged rock stars and posers. i reckon alot of people would retract that statement upon seeing what can only be described as the devils meat grinder .... matt, did you draw out that design with the cut outs going the other way? the curves on the outside edges, the spikes sort of point toward the neck, what would it look like if they were turned around with the spikes in same direction as the V.... if you catch my drift? im not saying it would look better, i was just wondering if the design of it would... flow more? would you make and sell one of these? im in love. And I never Had To cut out The Glue Flaw on the one Body It Just sanded Out But the New Design Was WAY to cool for Me Not to build So I used The Oak body For The Brutalizer design So I dont think I would Want to turn anything Around Im Extremly happy with it asis HEY!!, Get in line!
