Myka Guitars
Awesome stuff Drak! As usual you pick the most interesting woods. The depth of figure in that first Tele...well it is so humid and hot here right now I just want to jump right on in!
noviceluthier
drak, what does Northern ash sound like?(I'm assuming you've worked with it before..) I saw some beautiful straight grain-- quarter sawn stuff at the lumber yard and was wondering whether itll sound too brittle and bright as people describe it. Is that why you chambered it, or is that because of the weight?

Drak, what happened to photobucket? Also, is that gold hardware on the second tele, or chrome reflecting the brownish walls? AlGeeEater
Yes, gold hardware. Everything I made is gold hardware so far. ← Awesome, simply awesome
Bottom of the world
I have several pics of it when it was just pure raw wood, no dye at all (to be honest, I should have left it that way too), so you can see all the figure very clearly, but, Drak has no home for his pic collection once again, so it'll have to wait. ← Drak, you are not happy with that tele? I can't belive it, some of us would kill to get something like that Luis

GregP
The flamed Myrtle tele sure looked awesome. The figured woods you choose (even the maples) are always atypical, which I really like. Greg
Daniel Sorbera
Holy crap drak! I LOVE the second tele. I NEED one of those I feel like hiring you full time as my personal guitar builder. You can just stain maple in front of me all day. It would make me very happy.
Myka Guitars
Drak, I hear you. This one sounded like wet dirt and I refused to send it after it was done. My client suggested I contact a casting shop to inquire about getting it encased in acrylic and making a coffee table out of it. I did and they said that it wouldn't survive the process since the top would be 4" thick. I think I need to try another casting company! Like you I really liked the top but I also used too soft of a wood combo (wicked lightweight and punky black limba body with soft maple top) and the tone sucked. I finished it anyway. BIG mistake. It still sucked even after I put on the wicked stain. Pretty little piece of crap though isn't it? ~David
Drak
Yeah, that's exactly what I was going to say about the Tele, that it was a very pretty piece of crap basically. So what did you wind up doing with it in the end, it sure is beautiful!
Maiden69
Nice Drak, I remember that stairtep very well, I loved that blue color. On the lacewood warlock, did you bleached the top? I looks very bright. I'm working on a guitar now, that will be blue like the 7 that I did but with a darker burst (black and blue) on the edges. Looking foward for updates on the last one you was working on. The one on the stealth luthier thread.

Myka Guitars
So what did you wind up doing with it in the end, it sure is beautiful! ← Nothing yet. It is still awaiting sentencing. I may use it for some bizarre experimentation but it is not tonally interesting so I might not. Any ideas?

At the end of the day, though, you could always keep it on display in one form or another. I guess you wouldn't want to explain to clients that it sucked, though.
