bass4fam Posted March 20, 2005 Report Share Posted March 20, 2005 I recently (and against advice from a few experts) installed an EMG-J Set (made for a 4-string Jazz bass) into my 5-string Fender Jazz Bass. After installing a new pickguard and some minor routing to install the bridge pickup, I consider this a success, as my bass has never sounded better. I hear no drop-off in the B or G strings as I was told I would. The only drawback is the 1/4" or so empty space at each end of the bridge pickup.
