bluespresence
Hi hyunsu! Your work always impresses me....you make it look so easy. Did you use the router while the top was flat to get your depth and then use the spoke shave for the angle? It's hard to tell from the pics which you did first...... ooten2
Wow!! Very nice!!
Nalo1022
definitely a nice carve for a nice lookin guitar. The wood is very nice. Ive been tossing around a similar idea only instead using a 1/2" cove bit. then all you have to do is profile the top edge of your carve. xebryusguitars
Hyunsu, I wanna take this time to say I bow down to you as a person and a luthier. You make guitars for the joy of luthiery and do it because its a dream of yours. You've made amazing guitars and you still dont carry around a cocky attitude. If I'm ever in Korea I would love to meet you and learn a lot about the art of luthiery because your work is dead on accurate. I think I speak on behalf of everyone here that you should go into the guitar business and live your dream. Well just wanted to say that but this guitars shaping up real nicely. The 2 tone maple top is very nice. Cant wait to see this one strung up.

i-j-c
That's really nice work...I'm impressed with your use of spoke shaves on the carve...it's the one tool I have problems with on the body...I can use them anywhere else, but on a body I find them hard work...that's why I tend to always use scrapers for carve work on a top.... Very nice work...and a nice piece of maple you have there too...

CoryKer
We've all missed a very important point in hynsu's post... this is gonna be a set neck! If I remember correctly, we've only ever seen bolt-ons! This is a new one!
Maiden69
Yes hyunsu, I'm GI, and this summer on july I will be at Dongduchun. Hope to meet you then! You are using the same type of wood that I used on my guitar, but I used quilt, mine has a lot of sustain, and is very light. How thick is your top and back? Mine was 2" total, and I think next time I will go for 2 1/2" before the carve, I like mine a bit more heavier, it is 7 lbs total, I think that close to 10 will be my ideal. I'm waiting for people from hovey to write me to see if there is a woodshop there, to take my tools and make a guitar there, it will be a great memory! Talk to you later! Marzocchi705
Hyunsu, you are amazing! Those guitars you make are beutiful, if mine turns out 1/8 as good as yours i will be a very happy guy. Keep it up!

CudBucket
hyunsu, another beauty! Do you have any angle in the neck? I noticed your Wilkinson is not recessed. Mine won't be either and I have no neck angle. Thanks. Dave
hyunsu
yesterday.. i replaceed neck.. old neck status is not good.. so i replaced neck.. neck wood is merlbau.. fingerboard is maple.. i regret at my fingerboard select T_T i like worm sound.. but this sound is not worm.. when guitar making is end.. my sound checking is dont connect amp.. i listen only not connectioned guitar sound.. and finall check is listen amp sound.. merlbau is not good texture.. but it's sound is good.. if when you make neck.. i suggest merlbau.. and rosewood fingerboard. and 0 fret 20~21mm thick.. eye is not happy.. but ear is happy.. this guitar is some problem with fingerboard & body top... so i dont get my favorite sound.. have nice day.. and enjoy guitar making ^^

Kyle Cavanaugh
yes.. body top wood is ebony.. thick is 8mm i like rich & worm & bluesy & fat sound.. but it's sound is cold.... ← I think "Worm" should be "Warm." Worms don't really make much of a sound unless you take a ton of live, slimy ones and put them all in a tank, and I don't think you could make a guitar sound like that if you wanted to! Well, there is the wah pedal... Sorry, I'm not trying to pick on you, I just like a good joke! I'm assuming it's just something that got screwed up in translation! BTW, I'm loving all these guitars you've made and are making, it kind of discourages me, though!
